Trace minerals are essential to body function, but are only required in very small amounts per day. These minerals may make up only a small portion of an animal's diet but play an important role in everyday life, especially for the key functions of growth, reproduction and immune defence. Present in the soil to varying degrees, trace minerals are taken up by plants and then absorbed by livestock when consumed. Copper, selenium, manganese, zinc, and cobalt are among the most important trace minerals in livestock. However they are amongst the most common mineral deficiencies in cattle in Australia1,2. Supplementation is an important part of any animal health management plan to manage these trace minerals for optimum health and performance.Vitamin B12 is important for energy production in ruminants. Normally cobalt is taken up through the diet and converted to B12 by rumen micro-organisms. If cobalt levels are low in pasture, B12 levels can fall and this can limit energy available for body processes. -
MULTIMIN EVOLUTION is an optimised, trace mineral injection that gets modern cattle ‘performance ready’ by improving immunity and fertility.5-19 The enhanced levels of zinc in MULTIMIN EVOLUTION are required to boost the immunity and fertility of modern cattle. Zinc is one of the most abundant trace minerals in the body of cattle and large amounts of zinc are used to ensure an adequate immune response and optimal fertility.11,20

WHAT IS NITROFLUKE® INJECTION?
- Synergised combination of nitroxynil and clorsulon
- Outstanding control of liver fluke, including the damaging 2-week old early immature stage
- Controls triclabendazole resistant strains of liver fluke
- Easy to use sub cutaneous injection
RECOMMENDED FOR
Areas where liver fluke is found, typically throughout south-eastern Australia generally where rainfall is 600mm or more or in drier areas where irrigation channels are accessible by livestock. This includes south-eastern Queensland, eastern New South Wales, most of Victoria and parts of Tasmania and south-eastern South Australia.Treatment Timings
- Autumn Treatment (compulsory) 7 – 10 days following the first frost. Designed to clean out the fluke prior to the stresses of winter.
- Spring treatment (compulsory) Break the liver fluke lifecycle by removing any fluke that have survived winter. Prevents the contamination of pasture with fluke eggs as temperatures warm up. This treatment should occur prior to the spring break.
- Summer / early Autumn (tactical) Recommended for areas with extended periods of warm conditions. Ideal timing is January or February treatment to suppress fluke numbers.
- Mid winter treatment (tactical) For areas where fluke infection can continue all through the year such as warm coastal areas a mid winter treatment may also be necessary.
